Contributions are tax-deductible  ·  Maaser money may be used

A bracha cannot be purchased.

My Terumah is a Torah-support partnership: your contribution supports a Kohen learning or teaching Torah in Eretz Yisrael, while the personal arrangement ensures that he knows your name and remembers you consistently during Birchas Kohanim.

Only Hashem determines what any blessing accomplishes.

Where Blessing Begins

A Blessing Straight From Hashem

Every one of us is looking for bracha and yeshua — blessing and salvation. The Torah tells us exactly where to find it:

ֹּכה ְתָבְרכּו ֶאת־ְּבֵני ִיְׂשָרֵאל ָאמֹור ָלֶהם
"So shall you bless the Children of Israel — say to them…"
Bamidbar 6:23

The Kohanim were given a unique and sacred job: to bless the Jewish people.

Bamidbar Rabbah · Shir HaShirim

Hashem Stands Behind the Kohanim

The Midrash (Bamidbar Rabbah, Naso 11:2) records a remarkable exchange, when Hashem commanded the Kohanim to bless the people and the Jewish people pushed back:

Bamidbar Rabbah · Naso 11:2
Full text: Bamidbar Rabbah, Parashas Naso 11:2, on Bamidbar 6:23
Israel asks "Master of the world — why do we need the Kohanim? We only want blessings from You!"
Hashem answers "Even though I've told the Kohanim to bless you, I Myself stand with them and bless you together with them."

That's why the Kohanim spread out their hands during the blessing — to show that the Shechinah stands right behind them, as the passuk says:

ִהֵּנה־ֶזה עֹוֵמד ַאַחר ָּכְתֵלנּו ַמְׁשִּגיַח ִמן־ַהַחֹּלנֹות ֵמִציץ ִמן־ַהֲחַרִּכים
"Behold, He stands behind our wall, watching through the windows, peering through the lattices."
Shir HaShirim 2:9

Hashem stands behind the shoulders of the Kohanim, peering through the openings between their fingers as they bless the people. Birchas Kohanim isn't just something the Kohanim do — it's a channel through which Hashem Himself pours out blessing.

Kad HaKemach · Midrash Tehillim

The World Stands on This Blessing

Rabbeinu Bachaye · Kad HaKemach, "Beracha"

Whoever blesses others is blessed themselves — "I will bless those who bless you." The Kohanim bless the Jewish people, and Hashem blesses the Kohanim right back.

Rabbeinu Bachaye, Kad HaKemach, erech "Beracha"; see Bereishis 12:3 and Chullin 49a
Midrash Tehillim 7:12

Since the Beis HaMikdash was destroyed, no day passes without a curse — even the fruits have lost their taste. So what's holding the world up? The merit of Birchas Kohanim. The entire world stands on this blessing.

The Gap

What We're Missing Outside of Israel

In Eretz Yisrael
Every single day.

Jews hear Birchas Kohanim every single day, without fail.

Outside of Israel
Yom Tov only.

Most communities only hear it a handful of times a year — missing this incredible mitzvah almost every day.

But there's a remarkable solution: arrange for a Kohen in Eretz Yisrael to have you specifically in mind during Birchas Kohanim.

Orach Chaim, Siman 128

People standing behind the Kohanim aren't included in the blessing — but people who simply can't be there, like workers out in the fields who are tied up and unable to come, are included in the bracha. The blessing reaches those who want it but can't be present.

Someone outside the Land who supports those living in Eretz Yisrael is included in the Birchas Kohanim said there — it's as if the Kohanim are blessing them directly. The one condition: real intent (kavanah), from both the Kohen and the person receiving the blessing.

Rav Moshe Sternbuch
Leading posek of our generation · while Rav in Johannesburg

While serving as a Rav in Johannesburg, he arranged for two Kohanim in Eretz Yisrael to have him in mind every single day during Birchas Kohanim, and supported them in return. In his words: the primary bracha is for those standing before the Kohanim — but someone outside of Israel whom the Kohen has in mind also receives the blessing.

A letter across the continents

One year, Rav Chaim Halevi of Brisk sent a letter to Rav Meir Simcha HaKohen of Dvinsk — the Ohr Sameach — asking that when he goes up to duchen on the Yamim Noraim, he should have him in mind and bless him. If Rav Chaim of Brisk sought out a Kohen's blessing from afar, how much more so should we.

A Common Question

"Wait — am I paying for a blessing?"

That's the question everyone asks, and the answer is no. Nobody can buy a bracha — only Hashem decides what any blessing accomplishes. The contribution isn't for the bracha; it's the commitment that ensures the Kohen actually has you in mind every single day, without fail.

And it goes to a Kohen who is learning or teaching Torah in Eretz Yisrael — so you're supporting Torah at the same time, with affordable pricing designed to make participation accessible to everyone. This is exactly the model Rav Sternbuch himself used.

Gemara Megillah

Learn to Connect More Deeply

The Gemara in Megillah teaches that one who studies the halachos of korbanos is considered to have offered them. In the same way, learning the halachos of Birchas Kohanim connects you deeply to the mitzvah itself.

By receiving this daily bracha and studying its meaning, you're not just a recipient — you become an active participant in one of the Torah's most powerful channels of Divine blessing.

Who's Behind My Terumah

About Rav Yisroel Bloom

Rav Yisroel Bloom
Rabbi Yisroel Bloom
Rebbi, Yeshivat Mevaseret Tzion · Founder of My Terumah

Rabbi Yisroel Bloom lives in Eretz Yisroel with his wife and children. He has dedicated many years to teaching Torah and inspiring students both in Israel and abroad. He taught at Ohr Yerushalayim for six years and has been teaching at Mevaseret for the past ten years. He has also delivered shiurim and programs in the summer, including NCSY Kollel and Camp Sdei Chemed, and regularly speaks in communities throughout the United States.

Rabbi Bloom received semicha from RIETS as well as from Rav Zalman Nechemia Goldberg zt"l, the son-in-law of Rav Shlomo Zalman Auerbach zt"l.

As a Kohen, Rabbi Bloom has always viewed Birchas Kohanim as a profound responsibility and opportunity to bring bracha to others. He was personally told by Rav Chaim Kanievsky zt"l about the tremendous importance of Birchas Kohanim and was told to make every effort never to miss duchaning.

Over time, Rabbi Bloom was asked by individuals to have specific people in mind during Birchas Kohanim, including those living outside of Eretz Yisroel who would otherwise not be present to receive the bracha. This inspired him to create My Terumah, an initiative designed to connect people around the world with the bracha of Birchas Kohanim while simultaneously supporting those who dedicate themselves to Torah learning and teaching.

Through this initiative, Rabbi Bloom has undertaken to daven for individuals who are seeking a shidduch, a refuah sheleimah, and other yeshuos. He has also had individuals specifically in mind during Birchas Kohanim throughout their periods of difficulty. In his experience, he has witnessed people subsequently experience meaningful yeshuos, strengthening his belief in the tremendous power and significance of Birchas Kohanim.

My Terumah seeks to extend the reach of this ancient and powerful bracha beyond the physical boundaries of Eretz Yisroel, allowing people around the world to be included in the tefillos of a Kohen during Birchas Kohanim. At the same time, the initiative provides support for the Kohen, enabling him to continue dedicating himself to Torah teaching and learning.

Contributions to the organization are tax-deductible, and eligible donors may be able to use maaser funds, in accordance with their personal halachic guidance.

Tap into the greatest bracha in the world.

My Terumah — Bringing the bracha of Birchas Kohanim to you.

A Final Thought

Rav Aharon Leib Shteinman zt"l once asked Rav Dovid Cohen, Rosh Yeshiva of Chevron:

"Why are people so eager to get a bracha from me, when they can receive the greatest bracha of all — from a Kohen, through Birchas Kohanim?"

Let's not overlook this unparalleled opportunity to receive Hashem's blessing directly — every single day.
